Situated on the historic Disston Estate in the Northeast Philadelphia neighborhood of Tacony, the Hall was once the epicenter of arts and entertainment for the surrounding community in the late 19th century.  It served host to such luminaries as P.T. Barnum and Susan B. Anthony.

After years of use as an industrial warehouse, the Iatrolla family purchased the hall in 1989 and restored it to its Victorian grandeur. It is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Over the years, members of the musically inclined Iatrolla family and their friends have cultivated a commune of local musicians and artists. The past few years have seen an explosion of creative output from the Hall, and the pace it picking up!

We at the Sandbox have just begun a 6-month residency at the Hall where we'll be producing the next series of Sandbox releases, including the first EP from Sarah Rubinstein and our collaborative anthology The Jessee James Sims Project.
